Sunday Morning Zumba

8:40:00 PM

In busy times, its very important to overlook your health. And there are a million excuses not to keep in shape. But we should all make the effort to stay healthy. Some of you may know of my back problems which meant that I could no longer do heavy activities.  Recently I have gone swimming again, so that’s a start, but I really wanted to exercise more to improve my overall health. That’s why, two Sundays ago (as mentioned in Casual Sunday in the Aegean Sea), I went to a park with my husband.  We decided to go for a walk. Nothing strenuous.

When I reached the park fairly early (8.30am), I was quite surprised at how full it was. There was already a large crowd of ladies, young and old, doing aerobic sessions by a very energetic instructor. It made me realize that nowadays more and more people are taking their health seriously. I saw families bringing the elderly and the young to the park, which I think makes a nice change from the national pastime: shopping in malls.

Anyway, at the park that I went to, Nestum was doing a ‘roadshow’ giving out free breakfast in the form of their delicious Nestum cereal drink! What better way to start your day with a healthy Nestum drink. At the same time, they organized a Zumba session and brought a professional instructor for the public. The Era FM crew were also there and I spotted Dina Nazir, the talented singer I saw on Dreamgirls, the musical.

To be honest, I’ve never done Zumba before. But, I guess because I was inspired by the many people who were exercising that morning, I was determined to try it out. At first, there was just a handful of people who did it. Then more and more people started joining in. And guess what, it was SUPER FUN! It looked light, but it was a lot of hard work. It was a combination of aerobics, exercise and dance, which was something I love. It also helped that the trainer was so funny and cheeky, we were all laughing. I was a bit hungry so thank goodness there was some Nestum 3in1 just before I started Zumba as it was the perfect morning boost and gave me the energy I needed.

I was told that Nestum is going round parks in town to promote their roadshow and are organizing Zumba sessions to go together. If it’s near your area, you should definitely give it a try! Zumba is a lot of fun and you also get to enjoy Nestum for your health and energy boost in the morning before Zumba too.

Hmm… I think I have found a new activity to pursue to keep fit. You guys should too! Well my husband didn’t do the Zumba, so we still had our little walk after I was done. That too was just, fun and enjoyable.

Anyone can recommend a good Zumba place in KL? Tell me, what activities do you do to keep yourself fit and healthy?

PEACE & LOVE!
