Life is Abstract

Just a few days to go till we bid goodbye to 2016 and I’m
feeling extremely grateful and thankful for this past year. I didn't know what
to expect when I entered 2016 but now that 2017 is near I've been reflecting
back on what 2016 has been. It's been a colourful, exciting and adventurous
year for me personally and at work.
It’s been a somewhat balanced mixture of emotions for me:
love and pain, happiness and grief, ups and downs, extreme stress and also major
satisfaction. It’s really been a rollercoaster of highs and lows. It's been
such a beautiful year filled with so many beautiful moments and memories.
Personal struggles, tests, losses, trials, complications
and challenges are all a part of life. It builds our strength, patience,
character and perseverance, God-willing. Life was never meant to be easy
anyways. It is meant for us to endure and overcome, with faith and belief. With
all that we go through, ease and hardships, hidden or seen, let's remind each
other to never lose hope and never ever give up. Each new day represents HOPE,
another chance to live and to be even better than yesterday.
So I'm just reminding myself and others to be grateful and
continue to better ourselves as days go by. When we reflect we will realise
that we have been blessed with so many gifts and blessings that we often take
for granted, not even aware of, and worse, blessings that we might forget. So
it's always important for us to remind each other, right?
Life is just really abstract. Certain things can't be
explained or put into words but I've come to understand that certain things are
better left unsaid and to leave it that way. Sometimes we see everything,
sometimes we see nothing at all. Sometimes, in the total darkness, we just
don’t see where the road is going. We don’t know and don’t see what beautiful
blessings God has in store for us. But have faith. Keep going on that road.
Trust in His plans for us. Trust his timing. Early on at the start of the year,
I certainly did not even imagine the bounties He had for me. One by one, I
received blessing after blessing. And I am very thankful beyond words.
Anyways, these photos are captured by the husband Khubayb on my birthday in November at National Gallery Singapore. Spent
my birthday with him this year. The one who has been with me throughout the
rollercoaster rides in my life the past 10 years. My bestfriend, husband,
soulmate and forever boyfriend. Here we are in diff shades of our fav colour.
I’m wearing one of my favourite pieces from #aereHOPE
collection, @aere's LEVANA Top. I also wore the LEVANA in a different colour during
aere’s KLFW 2016 show.
I sort of love these pictures as it represents my mood
coming into the new year: Standing tall (okay, sitting down too), smiling and
ready to enter 2017 with gratitude and thanks for all of the blessings, no
matter how big or small, in my life. Hope you've had an amazing 2016 too and lets be grateful for the past one year and look ahead to a better and greater future, God-willing, InsyaAllah.
