Shallow Raw

I'm just currently so obsessed with the movie A Star Is Born starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga and one of my favourite current songs, Shallow. The husband Khubayb and I have been listening and singing to this song since we came out of the cinema the first time we watched A Star Is Born. Yes, despite my health condition, with wheelchair and crutches and all we did manage to watch this and I'm glad I did. The movie is so therapeutic, entertaining, deep, meaningful and gosh there's just so much thoughts and feelings about the movie that I think I need to write a review about it. (It has been a longgggg while since I wrote about a movie, the last was "KIL the MOVIE".)

A Star is Born the movie is happy, sad and its also a feel good movie for me personally and I enjoyed all the songs featured in the movie. But this post today is not going to be my review of the movie .

Today, I would like to share a cover of  the song Shallow. I haven't gone to a wedding in months, and last week Khubayb and I went to a wedding at the place where we actually got married. So many memories came flooding in my head. After the wedding on the way back home, we were singing to the song in the car and since we were both dressed and dolled up, I thought hey lets record us singing this song for fun and then since the hubs was up for it, we stopped by the roadside near our home and recorded this video. It was really fun to sing it. Back home, looking back at the video, and being the perfectionist that I am, I just noticed the cracks from his phone camera which caused the distorted 'silau' visuals and also the audio cracked a bit in the middle as the built-in microphone is probably faulty. There were a lot more things the inner critic in me were thinking about. Yeah, we don't have professional microphones and visually there's light all over because of the cracks but despite normally being very particular about this, I learned that I should just let go and embrace the beauty in imperfections. Plus, I think that's one of the messages in the meaning and lyrics of the song too as well as the movie itself. From Bradley Copper's directions, its clear that he wants the movie to be as real and as raw as possible and I admire that so so much.

So, do watch us singing this song for fun. It's the unedited, unfiltered, raw and imperfect version. But, as I was singing this with my husband, in my eyes and in my mind, it was such a beautiful moment and I can watch it again and again coz all of the imperfections make it more perfect, just like relationships and life itself.
