In the Realm of Fantasy

When I attended the dUCk event at the Shard London recently this beautiful painting caught my eye. The Shard London is one of the city’s most modern building, so the painting somehow seemed a little out of place. But it was just hauntingly beautiful and enchantingly magical. There was just something about it that seemed to be able to transport you to another place, time and era. 

I saw this painting when I was on my way out of the Shard, wanting to find a nice spot outside to take OOTDs. But when I saw this painting, I was stopped in my tracks and the painting lured me to take my OOTD shots here instead. This beautiful painting by Chen Yu was just that powerful. It was called the Realm of Fantasy and it was very apt. The title described every thing I felt when I saw the painting. 

Looking back, I realized what drew me to the painting so much. I think it evokes vivid abstract imageries in me that I wanted for the exclusive and customised aere print for the CHANGE collection.

I am so very happy with the CHANGE collection. Since the start of aere I’ve always wanted this kind of abstract print in this combination of colour, different tones or shades of blue with white. Somehow it didn’t happen before but finally after 3 and half years we got it! The print is just so aere and I love it so much. It symbolises aere, it’s meaning and it’s initial inspiration.

As most of you would already know the meaning of aere is air in Latin. Air is everywhere. We don’t realise that it’s there but we need it in order to breathe, to live. When I look at the sky, the sea it reminds me of the existence of air. Reminds me of how small I am in this world and how I should always be grateful for life, for the air that I’m blessed with which makes me able to live.
