Going public, finally.

I used to be very hesitant in making my blog public. In fact, to date, nobody actually knows I have a blog, which I started in 2009. (Even my husband didn't know until recently).

The reason why I haven't told anyone about my blog is because initially most of the things I write about (or photos I upload) are just my internal thoughts, which I thought would not be of interest to anyone else. I treated it like an online diary but only writing down things that captured bits of my maaaany 'bloggable' interests.

I mean of course I knew that one day I'd expect to share this blog with people too, but the thing is most of my posts are in the drafts and have never been published!

I have too many things to blog about! I'm passionate about so many things that I didn't know what my blog should focus on. Food? Fashion? Arts? Life? Friends? Movies? Music? In the end I found that blogs does not have to be so focused, although it sure helps! And ever since I started this blog it has always been a habit of mine that I tend to create new posts all the time and end up not finishing/completing the earlier ones. I've also just been busy with so many things that I just didn't have the time to actually focus on blogging consistently.

However, lately, I had the urge to make my blog public. :)

Mostly because my dearest cousin, Mia Suraya has been encouraging or more like pushing me to do so. She has been hinting at it for awhile now, but I think the first time she seriously said it out was on the 1st of January 2011. Mia is a blogger who writes and blogs religiously on her interests. I love to read her blog and I am not being biased here. She also encouraged me to go on lookbook, which I have just joined today.

The tipping point has to be yesterday when she tweeted that she has featured me on her blog. f course I felt extremely honoured. (Click the picture below to see her post). She also encouraged me when she came over to see Alia to try Yadotsa's stuffs last week. (Read about it : Here)

So I guess this blog is now officially public!

I hope my readers will go easy on me and help me with constructive comments. I must say that I am pretty nervous.

Juggling things are not easy at the moment, however I will definitely make an effort to steal a little more time to write new posts. I will also try to finally make some time to sit down and publish all my unpublished drafts retrospectively, bearing in mind that I started blogging since 2009 so there are a lot of unpublished drafts. Lots! I'm still trying to figure out the best way to go about it but I hope you will have fun reading the thoughts and ramblings I share with you guys :)

I'll try to keep the spirit up high! :) For those who have been doing this for years, do give me some pointers? Thanks.

The Friend Connection and the Aureoline

Tonight we had a small impromptu birthday celebration for Fazlyn, organized by Shai. Shai and Fazlyn have been good friends since kindergarten. Shai and I on the other hand have been friends since 14 years ago in school. We became very close over time. So when I first entered university in 2002, a girl came knocking on my room in campus looking for me. She introduced herself and told me her childhood friend told her that a close friend entered the same uni. We hit it off straightaway in university until today. It's a small world after all *disney tunes* ;)

Shai threw a small get-together to celebrate Fazlyn's birthday with Shima Adrina (or Shimbaddd) who I've also been close to since Form 1. It was just a small and simple dinner with husbands and husbands-to-be. We went to Alexis Bangsar, the food was okay. Somehow I rather prefer the food and service Alexis at GE Mall, which is much better. Anyways, it was great to see them and catch up with each other. The rest of the night was filled with photo taking.

Enjoy the pictures.

Oh, the boys all wore grey!

The birthday girl.

Wore the limited edition headband by Sereni & Shentel that I received from the Lancome event.

Loving my Aureoline Yadotsa top :)
Baby crepe puffed sleeve blouse with ribbon shaped diamontes at the frills and tons of buttons at the sides and the cuffs. Super comfy and love the attention to details.

Till my next post!

*~Happy Birthday Azura Liyana~*

It was Liya's birthday surprise today. She came over to Eima's house for work, not knowing that there was a surprise birthday celebration waiting for her. Everyone from her mum to Eima's mum was in on the surprise act. In the company of a small group of close friends and good food, it was a great way to celebrate your birthday. Happy 27th Liya!

Me in split personality mode, switching from a smile, to being all serious, on the way to Eima's house.

Liya's sister, Wawa @ Angah presenting the totally surprised liya with her birthday cake

The barbeque, people queuing up for their foooood

It was potluck everyone brought a little bit of food. The food selection was diverse. I brought the haagen-dazs ice cream for dessert instead of fruits. Oh and Ruzana's mashed potatoes were creamyyyyy licking good. The pasta and BBQ were great too. In fact, everything was great

My lovelies <3

Round 2 (or was it the 3rd, or 4th, or 5th) of the awesome barbeque

Me and my soul sistah, Ruzana. Love what she's wearing

I had to leave early, so I hugged the birthday girl goodbye

A happy ending to a satisfying day ~~ Ngee *tired face*

Long sleeved long dresses

Long sleeved long dresses really comes in handy for me. It is easy just to put on the dress, don the hijab and voila! Its even more practical than a maxi because I no longer need to put on a cardigan or jacket on top. In Malaysia's tropical climate, I think the lesser the layering the better, which is why these dresses are a must-have (I want!!) for my wardrobe. It is really hard to find dresses like these. Normally these long sleeved dresses available here are designed for glamorous evening wear only. Normally my long sleeved dresses (which are mostly designed by PU3) are designed strictly for evening wear. But the point I want to make is that it is really hard to find long sleeved dresses like these for casual wear which would really really be great! Because it simply means no more layering, with style!!

As inspirations, look at what I found when I googled the 2011 Golden Globe red carpet looks.

Leighton Meester looks sweet in this nude Burberry Prorsum dress. Very demure and subtle.

Angelina Jolie looks amazingly fabulous in this emerald Versace gown! (But then again she looks amazing all the time) Oh, I really love the dress. Absolutely beautiful.

Anne Hathaway looks like a goddess! Fullstop.

Pictures from

I know these pictures also feature glamorous evening-wear dresses, but I'm still looking for inspiration for casual wear.

During my wedding last year I had asked my dear bridesmaids to bespoke long sleeved long dresses with the dusty peachy pink chiffon I gave them. They look every bit beautiful and lovely in their dresses :)

My husband and I with the bridesmaids and the best man :) Joy!

Till my next post! :)

Adrenaline junkie

Today was a good day at work albeit quite tiring as I stayed up late yesterday to prepare for a meeting. Yesterday reminded me that I am pretty much an adrenaline junkie. Despite the physical limitations of tiredness and the pain I've been suffering, I overcame those with sheer hyperness. I was so hyper it got to the point that my colleagues were all annoyed as to why I was so hyper and cheerful when the whole office was stressed out and the tension was so thick because of a new case which had a lot of issues to be discussed.

I find myself enjoying the challenge at my current firm. The long hours and mental stress aside, I actually relish the challenges that I have to face every day because it pushes me to better myself and improve my knowledge of the law. I am exposed to so many new areas of the law that I learn new and exciting things in a short space of time.

I haven't even been here for a year but I feel like I've gained at least two year's worth of knowledge if I had practiced in a normal firm.

Anyway, my office asked me to plan ahead my annual leaves this year. It is the office policy to make sure that the lawyers' leaves do not clash. No two lawyers from the same department are allowed to take leave at the same time. So I sat down to plan my leave for the year. I can say I'm very excited for what is in store for me in 2011 and god-willing if everything goes to plan, it'll be a dream come true.

Maybe I will share what we have planned for this year later.

Till the next post! :)
