My Weekend with Music in Bed

10:20:00 PM

I've been stuck in bed for this past two days. This sucks because I've been unable to visit my grandmother who is ill. I've missed weddings, engagements, family outings, watching transformers and planned meet-ups with friends. I've been down with high fever, sore throat, head throbbing, flu, teary eyes... oh, you know the drill. One thing about me is that I rarely get sick. Some people can catch a flu or fever very often, but I'm thankful that I get it very rarely. But once I'm sick, I'm really sick.

Another thing about me is that I really H A T E to go to the clinic for the simple fact that I don't like to take any medicines. Yesterday, I was forced to take panadol soluble by my husband. I almost vomitted straight after. Yucks! So instead, I was asked to try redoxon, drank a few large bottles of 100 plus (3 1.5litre bottles so far), and drank jugs and jugs of warm water. I don't think it's working because the fever hasn't subsided.

My only medicine for these past few days?

.M U S I C.

I would just like to share some of the songs that's found its way to my ears, now that I have my ipod to keep me company in bed for the whole weekend. Most of them are oldies. But bear in mind that these 'oldies' are not the 50s or 60s oldies songs, but songs I used to listen to when I was younger, in school.

1. The Dull Flame of Desire ~ Bjork
'I love your eyes, my dear, their splendid,
sparkling fire
when suddenly you raise them so,
to cast a swift embracing glance

like lightning flashing in the sky, but there's a charm that is greater still:
when my love's eyes are lowered, when all is fired by passions kiss
'

2. Strange & Beautiful ~ Aqualung
'Sometimes the last thing you want comes in first
Sometimes the first thing you want never comes
I know that waiting is all you can do, sometimes'

3.Brighter Than Sunshine ~ Aqualung
'Love will remain a mystery,
But give me your hand and you will see,

Your heart is keeping time with me.'

4. Pleased Tonight - Dave Hollister

5. All Aaliyah's song on my iPod.
She's so beautiful. Her voice too.

6. One Woman Man - Dave Hollister
'But there's someone for everyone
I've been blessed to find that one
Who makes me feel like no other
'

7. If Only for One Night - Jamie Foxx
I melt and get high everytime I hear his voice.

8. Symmetry - Mew
'I'm caught in the symmetry of your mind, but I'm not happier than you...

did I really see you, or was it a dream?'

9. Donell Jones - You Know What's Up.

10. Random Awesome - Yuna
'something random turned into something awesome'

11. Kissing You (so in love) - Beyonce
'my heaving heart is full of pain, when we're apart, the aching'
'...love you more than music'

Since I've nothing else to do, I've also been spamming people's timelines through my twitter account. Don't believe me? Just look at the number of annoyingly random and unnecessary tweets below. Sorry to those who followed me :) I'll make sure that this is just a phase, but it was fun! I was so bored so most of the time when I was awake I was just tweeting and bbm-ing away. And you can tell that I'm bored now for even bothering to put up my tweetsnaps below.

Anyways, I really hope I get well soon. I can't afford to take medical leave tomorrow because there's so many things pending in the office. I'm going to try and sleep early and hopefully my body will recover by tomorrow. It's times like these when you really wish you took better care of yourself :(

Good night world.

Til my next post.
